HARLESCOTT ‘B’ 1 v WEM USC ‘A’ 4 This was an excellent away performance from the Wem Lads.keeping up the pressure on the top teams, Ian Tinsley leading with a very tight frame win 55-54 over Ian Evans, Then Sam Breakes put in the best performance with a 43 break in defeating Ian Ferriday 72-58. The other winner was Gavin Tommy 52-28 over Mark Mason, For the Hosts Dave Ferriday just got the better of Chris Davy 55-51. ————————————————————————————————————– BEACONSFIELD ‘A’ 3 v UNISON ‘B’ 2 This was an excellent result for the ‘B’ Lads against last year Champions, For the Champions Steve Adams 77-38 break 25 & Simon McLoed 88-27 with a 27 clearance both won well, but the big shock of the night came from young Billy Lanham who defeated last years Individual Champion Jason Bright 67-43, the other Unison Winner was Steve Shingler 57-43. BAGLEY ‘C’ 4 v WEM USC ‘C’ 1 Good points for the hosts with Danny Sumner top man 62-39, Next came Mike Jones 58-35 & Jamie Davidson 51-45. Wem had one winner Ted Parkes 48-33.                        —————————————————————————————————————– MEOLE ‘A’ 2 v UNISON ‘A’ 3 Big win for Unison who ground out this result. The first was full of some excellent safety play, The frame took an hour with Colin Beaman getting an excellent 67-45 win over Matt Ryder. Meole came back well in the 2nd Ross Corfield defeating Yours Truly 66-23 with an excellent 25 Clearance. On 3rd Mike Beasley was well beaten by the inform John Barton 85-18 John had a 29 break. The last was close all the way down to the Black ball Tom Hancher potted it to beat Mike Barnsley 68-54. ————————————————————————————————————– UNISON ‘F’ 3 v MEOLE ‘F’ 2 Games were shared with Unison claiming the aggregate after good wins for Gaz Hughes 55-37 over Steve Bebb & Haydon Cross 62-27 playing Tony Downes. For Meole Dave Berry was best 71-51 & Andy Bowers just getting home 46-44 against Mel Edwards.

MIKE HUGHES ON TOP FORM

WEM USC ‘B’ 3 v HARLESCOTT ‘D’ 2 This was a match of 3 tight frames & one excellent win by Alan Childs who won 66-29 & took the aggregate. In the first frame Simon Perry took pink & black in beating Russ Worrall 57-38, then the 2nd & 4th went down to the black ball Ian Bailey beating Steve Jones by one point 46-45 & Pete Maddon 47-43 against Mel Griffiths. HARLESCOTT ‘C’ 4 v PRESTON BROCKHURST ‘A’ 1 A big home success for the ‘C’ Lads who had Andy Simpson with their best win 54-31. The other two were close Dan Manning 60-58 & John Rigby 52-43. The visitors had the best win from Alan Trowsdale 54-27.                                                              ————————————————————————————————————- OLD SHREWSBURY ‘A’ 2 v MEOLE ‘G’ 3 Meole had three winners but Tony Bennett took the aggregate point after an excellent 79-24 win, for Meole Brian Price beat Craig Weaver 58-42, Peter Price just made it 51-49 against Rob Bebbington & Andy Wigginton made it 44-35 playing Tony Preece.          —————————————————————————————————— UNISON ‘E’ 2 V HARLESCOTT ‘E’ 3 This match started off with two big win Mike Hughes 84-21 with a good 25 break for Unison & Paul Meredith for the visitors 70-20. The other two frames were shared Brian Duckett for Harlescott 51-23 & Alan Thomas 60-47 for Unison.                                              ———————————————————————————————————— MEOLE ‘E’ 1 v BAGLEY ‘A’ 4 The visitors had a strong start in this match as Alan Ball won 58-29, then Martin Young 51-30 & Colin Vaughan 54-26, for Meole Pete Connor won well at the back 65-30.                                                    ———————————————————————————————————- BEACONSFIELD ‘C’ 4 v CONDOVER ‘A’ 1 The table toppers continue with this 4-1 win, Steve Farmer started it off by just beating Rhys Williams 48-33. Then Condover had a winner Peter Hird beating Mike Ryder 41-34, Jon Hedger took the next off Syd Longland 74-42 & Dave Fisher won at the back 59-39.
