Week 18 Report (27-02-19)

BRIGHT MOTORS DIVISION ONE

BEACONSFIELD GET SIX

Leaders Beaconsfield ‘A’ win 6-0 at Bagley ‘C’ Jason Bright got them off to a perfect start with 2 points after winning 111-16 plus a 53 bonus break, the 2nd saw Dave Davies in devastating form winning 72-18 break 24. On 3rd Simon McLoed still unbeaten and still winning this time 72-37. In the last once Steve Adams got on top there seemed to be no stopping him and run out 95-14 break 22.

Beaconsfield ‘B’ win at home to Bagley ‘A’ 4-1 after Geoff Evans started it off 65-30, then the visitors hit back with Alan Ball 57-49 with Andy Baron getting a 22 clearance to keep the aggregate down. Phil Ryan 53-37 & Chris Harrison 88-2 won for the hosts, Chris had a 27 clearance.

Unison ‘A’ kept up their challenge when they visited Old Shrewsbury ‘A’ and came away 4-1 winners Colin Beaman started the rot by winning 70-34, on 2nd Mike Barnsley had the big win 79-18, Mark Blomfield 64-47 was in a closely fought frame against Tony Bennett, on last John Barton never got going against Tony Preece 62-17, Tony potted reds and blacks well.

The top of the table game was at Meole ‘A’ who went down 4-1 to Harlescott ‘A’ who had 4 good winners Ade Rowe started it off 78-39, then Meole got  one back thanks to Matt Ryder 72-32, the other 2 visitors who won were Callum Wraight 61-32 after Ross Corfield had a 26 Break, Sean Nolan then beat Mike Beasley 42-31 Mike had a 25 break.

Unison ‘F’ had a close call against Unison ‘B’ but did eventually win 3-2 after going one down when Steve Shingler just won 56-49, back came Haydon Cross to win 67-40, then the ‘F’ men went 2-1 in front Danny Sumner with a big 86-22 win,  at the back Clive Phillips had a big 83-19 win with breaks of 18 & 35.

Wem USC ‘A’ go down 3-2 to Meole ‘F’ who had wins from Andy Bowers 71-48 & Dave Berry 72-10. For Wem Sam Breaks 51-48 & Ian Tinsley 53-50.  

A.B.F. CARPETS DIVISION TWO

EDWARDS WITH 37 & 27 BREAKS

Wem USC ‘C’ have good 4-1 win over Beaconsfield ‘D’ with Greg Edwards in devastating form in winning 98-26 after a 37 and a 27 clearance breaks, then Josh Whittall won a tight frame 50-45,  the visitors just took the 3rd frame thanks to Pete Archer 65-59. Back came Pete Day with a very good 90-25 win.

Harlescot ‘D’ Win 3-2 at home against Preston Brockhurst ‘A’ The visitors go one up when Pip Higgins won well 87-43 and took the aggregate with this win, Steve Jones then won a very tight frame 46-45, Russ Worrall 69-48 and Shane Powell 62-51.

Harlescott ‘B’ stay  top after a 3-2 win over Meole ‘E’ who had wins from Geoff Balshaw 54-53 & Andy Corfield 76-37, for the hosts Ian Evans 59-51 & Mark Mason 71-19.

Beaconsfield ‘C’ win 4-1 over bottom Club Harlescott ‘F’ the hosts win the first two Martin Lewis 49-41 & Steve Farmer 74-26 break 21. The other winner was Mike Ryder 77-56, for the ‘F’ men Billy Lanham won well 61-36 with a good 25 break.

Meole ‘G’ won 3-2 at home to Wem USC ‘B’ after wins from Andy Wigginton 76-33 & Kevin Price 80-39,  for Wem Simon Perry 58-25 & Pete Meddon 64-19.
