BRIGHT MOTORS DIVISION ONE 

BERRY VICTORY TIPS THE BALANCE  

Meole ‘F’ got off to a good start with Tony Downes excellent 63-20 win. Old Shrewsbury being the hosts hit back with Tony Bennet just defeating Brendon Coote 47-37. Dave Berry then had the key result 92-23 break 41 more than cancelling out Tony’s win. At the back Tony Preece won well for the Shrews 61-38, but Meole ‘F’ win 3-2.

Beaconsfield ‘A’ had a comfortable full house over Unison ‘F’ Jason set this match a light with a 63-32 win. Then it was Steve Adams who had a tighter frame 55-40. Then Dave Davies scored well 70-45 against Dave Thomas. At the back Simon McCloed was the best winner 61-27.

The first Division title race has been blown wide open with the shock 4-1 defeat by Unison ‘B’ last week and now just beating Bagley ‘A’ 3-2 at home, Callum Wraight had the perfect start 88-34 with an excellent 46 break. Then Bagley just hit back Martin Young doing well 52-50, then Colin Vaughan found the table to his liking with a very good 69-37 win and a 28 break. Ade Rowe hit back hard with breaks of 25 & 37 for a very good 71-16 win.

Unison ‘A’ Looked like heading for a full house after good wins from John Barton 66-31, Colin Beaman 76-46 break 23 & Mike Barnsley 65-33 break 31. Now it was My turn with both players missing chances until Phil Ryan found his old potting form to win 76-37 break 23.

A great result for Bagley ‘C’ 4-1 against Wem USC ‘A’ Gary Prosser only just won the first 43-42, the middle two were shared Gavin Tommy winning well for Wem 71-17 & Ross O’Callaghan doing Even better 87-21. At the back Mike Jones 63-49.   

A.B.F. CARPETS DIVISION TWO

ICE COOL HARLESCOTT ‘B’

In this top of the Table match the Harlescott ‘B’ Lads stayed cool at Wem USC ‘C’ and get the double after wins from Ian Evans 51-44 break 20, Ian Ferriday 52-40 & Mark Mason best of all 83-12, only Pete Day won for Wem 57-30.

Wem USC ‘B’ had a good 4-1 win over Harlescott ‘F’ Simon Perrry 53-36, Pete Madden 62-43 break 20 in this frame Brian Duckett had a 23 break but still lost, the last winner was Mark Perry 61-27. Billy Lanham did win the 3rd for the visitors 58-45.

Unison ‘E’ go one down at home to Meole ‘E’ when Martin Blizard took it 74-37, the hosts pull back well with wins from Alex Nuttall 55-34, Martin Cane with the best performance 80-22 break 23 & Alan Thomas 83-44.

Meole ‘G’ produced a good Performance when they hosted Preston Brockhurst and won 4-1 after Adrian Trowsdale took the first 57-33, then Meole hit back Peter Price 55-43, Ady Wigginton best winner 62-17 & Martin Reader 57-25.
