Week 15 Report

DIVISION ONE

Beaconsfield C 2, Beaconsfield B 2

Mike Beasley led throughout the first against Martin Lewis 57-20.  Ashley Lewis controlled the next and Simon Richards suffered a few in offs as Ashley won 60-23.  In the third Steve Farmer began strongly before an intense battle on the colours ensued, which culminated in Andy Baron sinking a delicate black in the middle to snatch it by a single point 49-48.  At the back Jon Hedger potted very well and had some help from lady luck to defeat yours truly 88-14. 

Beaconsfield A 2, Meole Brace C 2

The hosts went 2-0 up through Mike Barnsley outpotting Cameron Wildblood 66-37, and Simon McLeod getting a close frame from Ross O’Callaghan 58-47.  Meole’s Danny Sumner hit back to just beat John Banks 48-40, then Mike Jones played fluently with a 24 break for a comfortable 72-15 victory over Dave Davies.

Harlescott A 4, Meole Brace F 0

This game had been brought forward but unfortunately Meole Brace didn’t attend, so Harlescott receive a walkover.

Wem Cons A 4, Preston Brockhurst A 0

Unfortunately a walkover for Wem with nobody from the Brock available on the night.

DIVISION TWO

Meole Brace H 2, Beaconsfield D 2

Antony Downes took charge of the opener against Jordan Phillips 52-7.  Steve Memmott made a 25 break in the next but it wasn’t enough to stop Alan Childs winning 44-35.  An open third saw Roger Moore compile a 28 but it was Neil Thomas who hung on to take it 59-53.  Another close frame went to Paul Meredith when he outscored Shane Powell 47-38.

Meole Brace G 4, Unison F 1

Meole captain Pete Price got a close first frame 54-41 playing Mal Edwards.  Matty Edwards potted well to take the next from Andy Wigginton 74-43.  Mike Beer then lit up the match with a bonus break of 37 to earn his side an extra point, going on to defeat Andy Plant 60-13.  On last Adam Jones won well 63-37 playing Dave Thomas.

Condover A 2, Meole Brace B 2

Two very close frames in this clash.  Sam Faulkner just made it 38-36 in a low scorer against Syd Longland.  Rob Bebbington replied for Condover by beating Isaac Faulkner 63-56.  Adam Law built up a big score against Charlie Hughes 80-42, before Dougie Williams outplayed Malcolm Coote 50-14.

Harlescott B 3, Condover B 1

The hosts took the first three frames, starting with a 56-33 success for Ian Evans playing Dave Francis.  Terry Burgess then succumbed to Alex Evans 46-24, and Dave Ferriday overcame Vince Little 66-38.  Bill Duckett ensured Condover didn’t leave empty handed as he took the final game 50-35 against Mark Mason.
