Week 13 Report (23-01-19)

BRIGHT MOTORS DIVISION ONE

THREE TEAMS ON 48 POINTS

Champions Harlescott ‘A’ produced a good performance when they hosted 4th in the table Meole ‘F’ and Won 4-1, Sean Nolan 81-14, Callum Wraight 66-35 break 29, Ade Rowe 75-37 break 26 put Harlescott 3-0 up. 4th Victory went to Dave Berry 50-36.

Ross Corfield played brilliantly for Meole ‘A’ helping them keep up with Harlescott ‘A’ against Wem ‘A’, Ross won 84-17 & Tom Hancher 62-47, Mike Beasley 61-49 won well in this 4-1 win, for Wem Ian Tinsley did well to take the 2nd frame 67-47.

Unison ‘A’ sent Unison ‘B’ packing 5-0 Mike Barnsley being the star performer with a brilliant 40 break in winning 90-50.  Other winners John Barton 74-37, Mark Blomfield 43-35 in a poor performance pinching it on the black, Andrew was the better player, Colin Beaman took the last well 71-39.

Beaconsfield ‘A’ are fighting to stay with the two leaders they won 5-0, Steve Adams 80-50, Jason Bright 70-21, plus the top performance from Simon McCloed 94-9 break 22,  and Dave Davies 97-23.

Old Shrewsbury pull away from the bottom two with a 4-1 win over Unison ‘F’ going 3-0 up after wins from Tony Bennett 67-27, Craig Weaver 51-42 & Tony Preece 73-61 Tony with an excellent 39 break. For Unison Mel Edwards took the last 59-35.

Beaconsfield ‘B’ soon found themselves 2-0 up at Bagley ‘C’ through Chris Harrison 82-51 & Geoff Evans 80-32, then Gary Prosser 58-39 & Mike Jones levelled at 2-2 missing the aggregate by 38 Points.

IAN FERRIDAY GOES BACK IN TIME

Leaders Harlescott ‘B’ win 5-0 at Meole ‘G’ Ian Evans set the fire burning 60-31, on 2nd Dave Ferriday made it two with a very good 89-29 win. On 3rd Ian Ferriday was the star of the show winning 76-36 break 34, at the back was Mark Mason 65-37.

Harlescott ‘F’ went to Beaconsfield ‘D’ and only lost 3-2 after going 2-0 down after Tony Antrobus 71-27 & Graham Archer 54-33 won for the hosts. Billy Lanham started the fight back 66-42 then Terry Burgess 54-43 missing the aggregate by 30 points.

Unison ‘E’ are well beaten at home to Harlescott ‘D’ after Mike Hughes had  won well 66-28, then the visitors just took over Steven Jones 61-37  break 20, Alan Child 100-35 break 20 and Shane Powell 82-14.

Meole ‘E’ travelled to Wem USC ‘B’ and came away with 2 points after Geoff Balshaw just made it 61-50, then Pete Connor won at the back 56-39 with two 20 breaks. For Wem who won 3-2 Alan Smith 59-26 and Pete Madden 85-39.

Second placed Wem USC ‘C’ had a 4-1 home victory against Beaconsfield ‘C’ Glyn Edwards 92-23, Josh Whittle 58-51 break 31 and Pete Day 65-34, for the visitors mike Ryder just won a low scoring frame 44-39.
