Tom Hancher set the visitors on their way with a 25 break as he beat Steve Farmer 76-16. Ross Corfield knocked in a 41 to extend the lead, overcoming Martin Lewis 97-49. The next was very close, Ross Turner just making it 68-63 playing Ash Lewis. This left Jon Hedger needing to beat Kelvin Li by 94 to secure the match – too tough a task although Hedger did win the frame 56-37.
Meole Brace B (+105) 252, Meole Brace F (+55) 312
This was going to be a big job with the in-form B team having a 50 start with the handicaps. In the first Steve Switonski won a close one 49-47 from Isaac Faulkner, Malcolm Coote did the same against Andy Bowers 63-61. Andy Sparkes then made big headway, outplaying Nigel Sampson 63-21, leaving Dave Berry to wrap up the match against Adam Law 84-16.

The first was a great frame, Andy Baron playing some excellent safety to keep Mike Beer at bay. Beer went on to win 73-59. Simon Richards took control against an off-form Andy Wigginton 78-21. Yours truly started the third well going 30 odd ahead and not leaving much when I missed, going on to beat Adam Jones 62-34. This put the visitors 41 in front heading into the last, Mike Beasley was quick out of the blocks with a 36 break. Pete Price ultimately conceded with five reds left as Mike was already leading 54-1.
Preston Brockhurst A (+30) 193, Condover A (+95) 275
North hosted south in this battle of the A49. Syd Longland took the first from Pip Higgins 49-38, Rob Bebbington consolidated by beating Alan Trowsdale 46-33. Dougie Williams got another close one 50-39 against Adrian Trowsdale, which left Arn Mulligan 100 points behind Charlie Hughes. Mulligan won the frame 53-35 but the match was already beyond reach.
