Week 20 Report (4-03-20)

Bright Motors Division One

BEACONSFIELD ‘A’ 3 v UNISON ‘A’ 2
With Beaconsfield going two up after Dave Davies took a tight first frame 61-52, with the help of a good 31 break, The 2nd saw a run away win for Steve Adams 105-9, Then the big fight back Mike Barnsley with a very good 79-43 win. The last frame saw some excellent potting form John Barton & with a break of 31, Needed pink & black to take the aggregate but missed out by 10 points, winning 93-30.

HARLESCOTT ‘A’ 2 v MEOLE ‘F’ 3 Games shared, we welcome back Sean Nolan who just won the first frame 56-46, the next two went the Meole way, Dave Berry 63-56, Steve Maddocks had a 34 clearance to keep the aggregate down in this frame, In the 3rd frame Andy Sparkes had a very good 73-24 win, In the last Ade Rowe had a good 34 clearance to pinch the final frame 68-38.

UNISON ‘B’ 1 v WEM USC ‘C’ 4 Wem had a strong start in this match as Phil Seaton won 57-36, then Duncan Hill won 74-42, Unison did pull a good frame back when Billy Lanham won well 84-33. The last frame went to Greg Edwards 46-40 after Clive Phillips had a break of 36.

BAGLEY ‘C’ 1 v BEACONSFIELD ‘B’ 4 A good away win for Beaconsfield after this strong performance going three up after good wins from Rob Jones 68-38, Simon Richards 64-36 & Andy Baron 88-6, Gary Prosser did take the last frame for Bagley 57-36.

A.B.F.CARPETS DIVISION TWO

CONDOVER ‘A’ 1 v HARLESCOTT ‘E’ 4 The Condover Lads are on a downward run & this result did not help, Charlie Hughes did take the first 58-37, but that was the end of the hosts, Jon Hughes won the next 58-31 & Bill Duckett the 3rd 60-35. then the last saw Steve Weaver just win 44-33.

UNISON ‘E’ 4 v BEACONSFIELD ‘D’ 1 A big win for Unison keeping them in the top six, Mike Hughes started it off with a good 73-40 win, Then Alan Thomas took a tight frame 49-44, The best winner was Ken McEvery 71-21. Jim Green did take the last well for the visitors 65-23.

Wem USC ‘B’ 1 v OLD SHREWSBURY ‘A’ 4 A good away win for the Shrews, with three winners & four tight frames, Tony Bennett 57-54, then Ian Bailey won for Wem 36-33, Back came the Shrews with Greg Weaver 48-45 & Tony Preece 48-46. It was tight.

MEOLE ‘E’ 2 v PRESTON BROCKHURST ‘A’ 3 Games shared with Adrian Trowsdale best at 64-34, the other Brock winner was Pip Higgins 56-50 break 18, keeping them top but now only by one point, the Meole winners were Martin Blizard 61-55 & Geoff Balshaw 54-33.

BEACONSFIELD ‘C’ 4 v BAGLEY ‘A’ 1 Beaconsfield close the gap on the Brock after this good result, Steve Farmer 51-38, then Martin Young took the 2nd well 68-40 for Bagley, Back came the ‘C’ men Jon Hedger 56-41 & Mike Ryder 67-25.

HARLESCOTT ‘D’ 3 v MEOLE ‘G’ 2 This was a big win for the ‘D’ men, With the help of an outstanding win at the back by Shane Powell 89-18 to pinch the aggregate, the other winner was Russ Worrall 56-48, For Meole Pete Price 71-25 & Andy Wigginton 67-39 being the first player to beat Alan Childs this season in this league.
