LEAD NOW SHARED BY TWO TEAMS
Harlescott ‘A’ having beaten Wem USC ‘A’ 4-1 and thrashed Unison ‘A’ have joined Meole ‘A’ at the top of Division One where each team has scored 44 points. Sean Nolan got Harlescott off to a good start by just getting the better of Martyn Bebb 76-60 at Wem USC ‘A’. Next on was Callum Wraight who had a resounding 86-40 win over Ian Tinsley, Callum had an excellent 45 break and Ian 32. Sam Breakes v Ade Rowe was close Ade just got home 48-44 making his 10th win. At the back Gavin Tommy out-played Mike Beer for an impressive 75-18 win.
Meole ‘A’ started well taking the first two frames against Meole ‘F’, Tom Hancher out-played Tony Downes in the first 97-26 with breaks of 41 & 26. Then Matt Ryder made it 2-0 by defeating Andy Bowers 77-46. Then the fight back, Andy Sparkes got the better of Ross Corfield 68-57 with the help of a good 32 break. On last Dave Berry only just won a tight frame 53-51 against Mike Beasley. Meole ‘A’ wins 3-2.
Beaconsfield ‘A’ close on the Leaders after beating the ‘B’ team 5-0 now only one point behind after Steve Adams just won 54-42 against Rob Jones with two 20 breaks. Then Jason Bright took out Andy Baron 76-38 break 30. On 3rd Dave Davies was the best winner 69-27 break 26 against Geoff Davies. At the back Simon McCleod won 64-40 playing Phil Ryan.
Unison ‘A’ lose second successive match this time against the ‘F’ team, John Barton beat Mal Edwards 76-42 after Mal had an excellent 25 Clearance and John a 27 break. Colin Beaman potted well in beating Gaz Hughes 61-21. Then Unison fell apart Mark Blomfield looked like being in control then Dave Thomas started to pull the points back with some very good potting to just win 62-53. At the back we saw the performance of the night from Haydn Cross, not only did he beat Mike Barnsley 90-21 but took the aggregate for his team by 4 points.
Unison ‘B’ got only the 2nd win of the season 3-2 against Old Shrewsbury ‘A’ thanks to wins from Steve Shingler 63-38 over Craig Weaver, the other winner was Andrew Cashion 59-28 playing Tony Bennett. For the Shrews Tony Preece just beat Neil Chislett 35-27 & Danny Christmas got the better of Clive Phillips 68-47.
Bagley ‘A’ go 3-2 down to the ‘C’ men. Alan Ball did win the first well 68-35 break 32 against Mike Jones. The other winner was Colin Vaughan but only just 46-41 playing Ross O’Callinghan. For the ‘C’ men Jim Davidson 58-42 against Martin Young & Gary Prosser taking a tight frame 43-33 against Mike Keene.

HARLESCOTT ‘B’ 4 POINTS CLEAR
Harlescott ‘B’ win 4-1 against Wem USC ‘B’ only Dave Ferriday just lost out 52-58 to Mark Perry. Ian Evans won well against Simon Perry 69-29 but the best performance came from Ian Ferriday 84-33 beating Ian Bailey. At the back Mark Mason beat Pete Madden 66-32.
Wem USC ‘C’ stay 2nd After winning 4-1 at bottom Club Harlescott ‘F’ who had Young Billy Lanham to thank for that 57-33 win over Ted Parkes. For Wem Duncan Hill was star of the show by beating Terry Burgess 95-17, then next was Pete Day winning 72-27 against Len Turford. The other winner was Graig Edwards 76-35 playing Brian Duckett.
Meole ‘E’ go down 4-1 to the ‘G’ Slingers Martin Blizard did take the first 53-33. Then Geoff Balshaw lost out 47-61 to Pete Price. Andrew Corfield was well beaten by Andy Wigginton 14-62 & Pete Connor only just lost out 43-47 to Martin Reader.
Beaconsfield ‘C’ 5 v Beaconsfield ‘D’ 0 Martin Lews defeats Graham Archer 45-21 then Steve Farmer wins well over Pete Archer 62-18 on 3rd Jon Hedger keeps up his winning run by beating Jim Wood 64-28, at the back Mike Ryder was the best winner 65-17.
Preston Brockhurst only just win 3-2. Arn Mullinghan lost on the black to Martin Cane 57-58, then Pip Higgins had a good win 101-41 playing Mike Hughes, Adrian Trowsdale struggled but won 62-40 against Alan Thomas, Alan Trowsdale missed easy black for frame and left it for Kevin Ebrey to pot to win 51-41. Good 2 points for Unison ‘E’.
