Beaconsfield C 2, Wem Cons A 2
The hosts took the first two, Martin Lewis outscoring Pete Madden 61-30 and Ashley Lewis beating Duncan Hill 81-42. Wem fought back, Will Skerratt knocking in a crucial 28 to see off Steve Farmer 59-27 before Greg Edwards took the spoils against Jon Hedger 60-20.
Meole Brace A 2, Beaconsfield B 2
The first three all went to the pink. Andy Baron pulled off some great pots to open a 40 point lead over Tom Hancher, but Tom never gives up and came right back with a great break only to suffer an in off on the pink. Baron took the frame 60-36. The second began very tactically, Ross Corfield then made 27 before Mike Beasley later got him in a snooker on the last two balls. Corfield missed his escape but went on to pot the pink to get over the line for the second time 60-37. Simon Richards claimed the third for the visitors by winning another close one 59-54 over Ross Turner. In the last yours truly couldn’t keep up with Kelvin Li’s superb long potting, Li pulling away for a comfortable 53-13 triumph.
Meole Brace C 1, Harlescott A 3
In the opener Callum Wraight almost earned Harlescott a bonus point with his 45 break to win 70-40 against Danny Sumner who had a 22. Craig Crossley took the next from Mike Jones 60-28, then Ross O’Callaghan compiled a 35 in his 58-8 victory over Ade Rowe. At the back Billy Lanham ran away from Colin Beaman 49-18.
Beaconsfield A 4, Meole Brace F 0
The A team continue their momentum with their third consecutive full house. Mike Barnsley opened with his 58-18 success over Chris Smith. Great to see John Banks back in action, not sure Dave Berry would agree as he was on the wrong end of a 79-8 scoreline. A close third saw Tony Watkins get home 53-45 against Andy Sparkes. Dave Davies then made two contributions of 27 to defeat Steve Switonski 61-9.
DIVISION TWO
Meole Brace B 3, Beaconsfield D 1
The first was tight with Adam Law just beating Russ Worrall 40-34. Isaac Faulkner then beat Roger Moore 55-35. Malcolm Coote got the next 64-41 helped by a bit of luck in his 27 clearance over Steve Jones. Shane Powell earned a point for the visitors when he won 56-32 playing Adam Cook.
Harlescott B 2, Meole Brace G 2
Ian Evans knocked in a 27 during his 66-36 victory over Andy Wiggington, Meole’s Brian Price replied by beating Alex Evans 65-41. The third was a clash between Mike Beer and Dave Ferriday, both enjoying strong seasons, but it was Beer who took it 80-23 including a break of 29. The fourth went down to the wire before Mark Mason pipped Adam Jones 51-44.
Meole Brace D 3, Condover B 1
Two of these were very close indeed. Alan Thomas was the victor over Terry Burgess 62-32, then Vince Little got Condover on the board with his 69-44 win against Kev Ebrey. Mike Hughes just got the better of Bill Duckett 57-55 before James Stevens beat Vic Ingram 60-51.
