DIVISION ONE
Preston Brockhurst A 2, Beaconsfield B 2
This postponed game was a closely fought affair, where both teams I imagine would have felt hard done by to lose 3-1. The first went down to the pink, Pip Higgins winning 41-31 against Andy Baron. In the second yours truly produced a 25 clearance including a daring long pink to just beat Glyn Buckley 67-52. Mike Beasley dominated the next with a 32 break to outscore Adrian Trowsdale 83-19. The last again went to the pink with Arnie Mulligan knocking in a 21 and enjoying a little luck to beat Simon Richards 75-56 despite a good comeback from Simon.
Harlescott A 3, Meole Brace F 1
Adrian Rowe compiled a 29 on his way to beating Chris Smith 69-39. Billy Lanham suffered his first loss this season at the hands of Dave Berry 45-34. Craig Crossley had a 31 during his 71-22 victory over Andy Sparkes, then Callum Wraight made breaks of 29 and 44 to overwhelm Steve Switonski 87-1.
Meole Brace C 1, Beaconsfield A 3
Mike Barnsley maintained his good form to inflict Ross O’Callaghan’s first defeat 66-20. Tony Watkins beat Mike Jones 46-20 before Colin Beaman replied for the hosts 53-19 over Steve Adams. At the back Dave Davies emerged the winner 59-42 against Danny Sumner.
Beaconsfield B 3, Beaconsfield C 1
Martin Lewis played some great safety but yours truly found some pots to prevail 64-24. Mike Beasley forged ahead in the second but Ashley Lewis came right back, Mike just getting over the line in the end 66-45. Simon Richards made a good 31 break as he beat Steve Farmer 69-31. Andy Baron began well in the last with a full house beckoning, but Jon Hedger knocked in a great 32 to lead by 8 into the colours, later doubling the blue for game 62-46.
Preston Brockhurst A 1, Wem Cons A 3
Duncan Hill didn’t give Pip Higgins a look in, winning 70-4 with breaks of 24 and 22. Huge contrast in the next as Pete Maddon got home by a single point 56-55 playing Glyn Buckley. Adrian Trowsdale took the next for the hosts 62-27 against Will Skerratt, then Greg Edwards claimed the last from Arnie Mulligan 60-37.
DIVISION TWO
Unison F 1, Meole Brace G 3
Three close frames in this match, Pete Price got the opener for Meole 46-37 from Mal Edwards, and Adam Jones beat Reece Jones 51-18. Matty Edwards did very well to pip the hitherto unbeaten Mike Beer 59-49 to earn Unison’s point, then Andy Wigginton just made it 56-53 against Andy Plant.
Beaconsfield D 3, Meole Brace H 1
Alan Childs kept his unblemished record with a 52-17 success over Neil Thomas. Mark Vaughan played a great frame and had a 29 break to beat Russ Worrall 64-17. Jordan Phillips then outpotted Roger Moore 51-14 before Shane Powell levelled the match with his dominant 63-7 display against Steve Memmott.
Condover B 0, Harlescott B 4
In a close first Dave Ferriday was still on form to just beat Dave Francis 56-45. Alex Evans was the winner 53-25 playing Bill Duckett. Ian Evans took the third from Vince Little 58-20 before Mark Mason completed the rout 64-19 over Vic Ingram.
